Codelocks Desktop Client

The Codelocks Desktop Client allows you to manage Remote Card Authorisation cards, for the KL1100 RFID lock, on a Windows 10 based PC. Before Codelocks Desktop Client can be used, you must have a license and an account on Codelocks Connect. If you do not already have a Codelocks Connect account, you will need to register.

You will need to sign into the Portal before following any of the instructions below.

Step 1: Redeem a Product Key

  1. Through the Manage your Locks menu, click on Manage Devices
  2. Click the Redeem Product Key button
  3. Enter your Product Key and click the Submit button to proceed
  4. Your license count will reflect the new license and you are now ready to install Codelocks Desktop Client

Step 2: Install Codelocks Desktop Client

  1. Through the Manage your Locks menu, click on Manage Devices
  2. Click on the Download button in the Your Licenses box. Make sure to select the correct version for your PC (32bit or 64bit). Take note of the default username and password – this will be required in Step 3
  3. Once the software has finished downloading, from the browser downloads bar or your downloads folder on your PC, double click the software icon to install
  4. After installation, Codelocks Desktop Client will be available from your programs menu

Step 3: Register Codelocks Desktop Client

Information

Please ensure that you are signed into the Codelocks Connect Portal – both the Portal and the Codelocks Desktop Client will needed to be complete the registration process.

  1. Open Codelocks Desktop Client and at the sign-in screen, enter the default username and password. After sign-in, change your password
  2. Unregistered copies of the Codelocks Desktop Client will display a red Unregistered version message across the top of the screen. Click on the link in the notification to begin the registration process or select Registration from the left-hand menu
  3. In the Portal:
    a) Open the Manage Devices page and click on Add New Device.
    b) Select a license (if no license appears, follow Step 1 above)
    c) Choose a device name – 8-20 characters, lowercase and no special characters
    d) Copy the Organisation Identifier. Do not close the Add New Device dialog window.
  4. In the Codelocks Desktop Client:
    a) On the Registration screen, enter the Organisation Identifier
    b) Copy the PC Unique Identifier
  5. In the Portal:
    a) In the Add New Device dialog window, enter the PC Unique Identifier
    b) Click Submit
    c) The license file will automatically download to your PC
  6. In the Codelocks Desktop Client:
    a) Import the license – usually, the downloaded file can be found in your main Downloads folder
